What percentage of hard drives are unrecoverable due to what the customer has done after the drive failed?
Please don't take the poll unless you recover hard drives for a living.

Do you mean what percentage of all drives received, or what percentage of drives that are unrecoverable?

Why is 10% the minimum. Its more like 1 or 2%. Only a select few are really stupid.

Disagree... for me a reasonable amount of the drives that are unrecoverable are due to something the customer did (whether it was opening the drive and scratching the platters with a paperclip or trying to fix the RAID themselves)

This is a percentage of drives which were obviosuly damaged further by the customer and found to be unrecoverable verses drives which were damaged by the customer and then recovered. It is not a percentage of all drives verses customer damaged drives.

Oh, so out of all drives that customers have attempted recovery themselves, the percentage that are unrecoverable?

Correct.

70%
where some clients decide to remove the platters out of there own hard drive
with there hands
and then put it back in the donor drive hoping that the hard drive will work again
