Hello,
It seems the only way to figure out if the program has a bug or it is a bad drive is to try it with another drive
I have a problem that may be related on Windows 2000.
On startup, I get two error dialogs:
(X) Error accessing device: Unzulässige Funktion [OK]
(X) Cannot change Visible in OnShow or OnHide. [OK]
Nothing is shown in Device details. There is no menu.
If I then click on S.M.A.R.T. and Get SMART Attributes, I get:
Current date and time: 11.07.2006 03:11:21
Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool 2.36 build 1181;
http://hddguru.com
SMART Attributes for ·g2xÓg2x·g2xïg2xi2xïg2xñi2xGj2xñi2xcj2x ñj2xcj2x [7475070416,35 Gbytes]
SMART is unavailable because the device is not a Native IDE or SATA device.
However, HDDScan 2.6 works and can access the device(s) without any problems.
Could the problem be caused by the secondary IDE controller which does not do anything useful in this Compaq notebook?
