Tools for hard drive diagnostics, repair, and data recovery

Hiya there
Just asking for a reccomendation for software that can compare 2 drives files and folders...
Some of the stuff i have found is rubbish lol
Im having a dabble with PureSync at the moment but im after something tried and tested....
