Tools for hard drive diagnostics, repair, and data recovery

Hi,
i have been having bad sectors in my hard drive for around 2-3 months and thankfully they are not spreading. However, i wish if they could be removed from the File Allocation Table so that they are no longer used by windows for file storage. To do this i tried the following but in vain :
1) Using the default windows "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" - This ends in between with a blue screen err
2) Using software in the market that promise they can "magnetically reverse" the bad sectors and "clean" them - These ended in between freezing the computer.
3) Long Format - The computer froze here as well.
what i was looking for is a software that is not very high-fi but simply one that could identify and remove the bad sectors from the available disk space(platform Win / Dos /Linux , anything). i don't care for the lost disk space.
Thanks ,.

hello
you would need hardware tool to remap the platter
so it skips over the damaged sector
if i was you i would not use it and get another drive.
as its more likely failing
but you can try these programs below they might help
HDD Regenerator
Ariolic Disk Scanner
Flobo Hard Disk Repair
