How to extract raw data from a VHD image?

October 10th, 2025, 9:40

I created an image with disk2vhd, but I can't reverse the process with the open source tool vhd2disk (it doesn't work).
Is there a way to extract the RAW data without the VDH structure information in the image, or another tool?

For information, drawing a parallel between my question and HDD Raw Copy with the problem of copying the image created with it and not being able to reverse the process: the disk I made an image of comes from a 2230 M.2 SSD from an Xbox Series X (in this VDH image, I want to recover the 1GB RAW partition after I attack it with code to extract it or whatever.

The problem with the VDH tool : sector size is 512 (i do not choice the vhdx when i generate the vhd image)

R-Studio opens VHD/VHDX. Not sure what can be extracted from an SSD device in the first place.
