HDD Wipe Tool questions... need help

I just downloaded the hard disk wipe tool because i want format my hard disk... but the question is, I have only one hard disk, and if i run this wipe tool on this particular HD, then is the tool going to wipe itself out? Because if it is, how does it finish formatting? I tried to format my drive with the Windows Recovery console, but my Drive C: didn't appear on the list, only my Floppy and CD drive was there... help here... my registry is corrupted and i want to reinstall windows....

I would try... Probably it will not finish formatting, Windows can start complaining and whining, but eventually the drive will be erased (just start it and do not touch anything, any windows saying this program is going to ruin the world, etc).

At least it must be fun watching how windows dies... lol
