Remove password and update firmware

May 21st, 2007, 3:57

Hello...
Maby someone can help me with this?
My hdd (ST380011A, Barracuda 7200,7 firmware 8.01) is locked in a Xbox. Now an error in first sector make it unbootable.
I try to unlock it with several password i culd remember, but no good.
I can hook it up with a program to read and write to the hdd bios, and its ok. I wonder how to use the program, ST_MEM_FREE, to update the firmware and remove the password on the hdd?
I don't understand how to use the files that ends with **.trk.
Best regards
