Has anyone got or no were i can get software to test and fix DAT drive / tape drive

When dat drives have faults they are recorded in the service area memory. After a certain number of errors or errors of a certain type drives become useless or unusable for backup as the device needs to be 'factory serviced'. I guess you would need 'in house' software or even hardware to delete the records.
