Hi, everybody,
I am a new guy in this forum and I like it so far.
Has anybody already tried to work with Maxtor Firmware Repairer Pro
from Salvation Data? Your opinion should be helpful.

I have not tried it for Maxtors but if it is anything like their Fujitsu laptop program I would steer well clear of it. They made us wait the 4 weeks for a new executable every time we needed to repair a drive, sometimes this executable didn't turn up at all. Not very good service at all, when we questioned them about it they stopped replying to us.

Use them at your own risk (and don't let their Athena trial software fool you, the actual program is not at all user friendly and does not make it possible for you to repair the drive yourself), there are much better alternatives out there.

Hi,

I have a similar firmware problem with a maxtor D540X-4K.

What is PC3K?

Is there any other solution out there besides Salvationdata?

The short answer is if you can't afford the time and money involved with buying one of these tools, use a data recovery company, I suspect it will be more cost effective for you.

I strongly recommend against using salvation data, their product is poor and the service is even worse!

I already tried to work with Maxtor Firmware Repairer Pro
from Salvation Data but not so good, because the collection of FW and function is a little.
I already tried to work with Seagate FW Repairer Pro from Salvation, and very good to repairing and data recovery.
