Unfortunately, it's probably because of the southbridge. It's the Intel ICH10.

I have almost the same motherboard (i4x + ICH10), MHDD works just fine...

Doesn't work at all on a P45 based board I have with ICH10R no matter how I set ATA and SATA modes.

BTW, MHDD only fails to detect HDDs when the following is true on the Asus P5QL Pro:

1. The HDD is connected to the Marvell PATA controller.

2. AHCI is enabled. You cannot use AHCI with MHDD.
