| Post subject: | Cloning a hard disk without deleting partitions |
Using Acronis True Image I succesfully cloned my hard drive, on which it is installed the OS; what I wonder is: is it by force necessary to delete the partitions on the hard disk on which I'm cloning? Isn't it possible just to add the partition I want to clone to the ones present on it? And another question: when I cloned the hard disk, the hard disk on which I cloned the partitions was assigned a letter, for example E; the hard disk I cloned had instead the letter C; so, when I used the hard disk on which I cloned the partitions, it worked well, the OS started and worked without problems; so, did Acronis change the letter from E to C to make the hard disk work properly? Btw: can anyone suggest me a free program (Winzozz) to clone partitions and whole hard disks? |
