I have a Seagate 250GB hard drive and using Media Tools professional for Cloning, but the drive gets stuck in various areas and the timer jumps up in the time remaing 120HRs + and takes long to go through the errors. Is there another software that can get through the problem areas faster to complete a full clone of the failing drive?

Thank you

Hello,

On Seagate, the error recovery part in the SA have some problem some times, and freeze the drive out.
You need to send a software reset immediately if the read gets too much time, before the code reach the bad part.

Try another, smarter software...

Regards,
Janos

Media Tools is ok, but for a drive like this, you'll need a hardware based solution that can power on/off the drive. Not sure what your goals are here but there are plenty of recommendations on this forum for various different devices. Personally, I prefer the Deepspar but there are other units on the market. A software app won't work for you here, unless you've got a long time for the drive to image. You also risk killing it if its got a weak head.
