Please read here :

You can't solve your problem by flashing firmware like a cell-phone ....
To solve your problem you can :

- Unlock the drive with MHDD if you know the user password.

- Search on this forum for Seagate Master Passwords and try them out (and possible lose your data on the drive).

- Pay for someone to remove the lock on the drive.

- Build RS-232 Adaptor and dump the track with the password using hyperterminal and grab the password.

- Use something like SeDiv and the rs-232 adaptor to retrive the password.

- Use something like Atola, HRT, Pc-3000, Salvation Data....

- Buy a new HDD and sell your old one on Ebay as locked drive with unknown password.

- Try to RMA.

- Figure out what application have locked your drive and get the password from the application.

etc ... etc ... etc ...

With the exception of building your own terminal adapter, learning the Seagate commands, a lot of frustration and the chances of completely destroying the drive, other solutions will cost a lot of money...in the thousands of dollars. If the data is what you are after, get the drive assessed by a professional. If it is just a matter of salvaging the drive, buy a new one or try for an RMA.

If you are looking for a recommendation for someone in your area, I'd say Doomer is your best bet.
