Hello,

I have downloaded and installed the applications "Hard Disk Wipe Tool" and "Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool"

The Disk I am attempting to wipe is "ST3802110A [80.02GB]" this currently has one empty partition under the letter of F:\

When the tool is used to either WIPE or Low Level Format the Drive the operating system still has access to the drive, even while the process is going I am able to create files and folders etc...

I have no idea what the tool is doing but it can't be formatting the HDD at any level as after the tool has completed i still have access to the original data where i can Read and Write to it.

I have attached a screen shot as evidence. If anyone else has had the same issue? or if any one would like to replicate the test and show me different that would be great.

Download this and burn the CD. Boot the PC from this CD and it will
erase the choosen hdd.

All data will be lost !

Just tested Low Level Format on a USB flash drive... I dumped some images on it first and formatted it with LLF Tool and it still showed the images so I tried to open one but the image wouldn't load after I disconnected and reconnected the drive windows requested it be formatted so I did that then ran a couple file recovery programs against it looking for anything and nothing could be found... so it is working windows just shows the files until you format or reconnect the drive.
