Where I am looking for help unlocking two WD800JD HD's.

This thread is specifically looking for whatever scripts may be available for WD HD's, and also any "guides" or other sources of information regarding the MHDD software. Also any "Vendor Specific" commands for WD HD's.

Regarding the specific situation detailed in the thread (above), I've come to the conclusion that the problem with accessing the password in the protected area is that I do not have the correct "unlock code" (or whatever the specific command may be). From the various posts I've read, I've learned (I think) that the codes (and therefore the scripts) to access the protected area of the WD HD's can vary from model to model, and so what I need is either a script (or codes) to access my particular drives, or some general information that may allow me to figure it out on my own.

Any help appreciated, and thanks in advance.

On passwords you can take it to a DR company and they can do it for you for round 50 dollars. Check on here people offer this service for around 50 dollars to unlock this password. Might it not be cheaper and save you a lot of time to just have it unlocked for you and while you are there maybe speak with them directly and see if they can give you some insight on how to do this one.

There are lots of posts here on PW removal for WD drives. If you can not figure out the script and to understand the hex or editor then there are other places on Internet to help explain this one to you so you can modify this code and read your script.

I would just like to insert that the more freely available this type of information is on the internet, the more difficult that manufacturers/vendors will make it in the future to access this sort of thing.
