WD2500BEVT - Advanced Power Management

Hello everyone,
some weeks ago, I got the Lenovo G550 notebook. In this notebook there is a WD2500BEVT hard disk from Western Digital.

This drive has a strange APM-Feature-behavior. The hard disk is always spinning down when not used for some seconds. This topic is already discused in the lenovo and the german thinkpad forum. I found a small "solution".

I use hdparm to set this:

Use the following command to disable the standby (spindown) timeout:
command:
hdparm -S 0 hda

result:
hda:
setting standby to 0 (off)

Use the following commands to disable the Advanced Power Management feature:
command:
hdparm -B 255 hda

result:
hda:
setting Advanced Power Management level to disabled

The hard disk behavior is normal when set like this. The problem is, you can't keep the settings for the hard disk. After each reboot you have to set it again. At the moment I use a batch script with task sheduler so it's set autmatically every time windows starts.

We are looking for a way to set it permanently. There are no tools from WD, and all tools I try don't set it permanently. This problem is probably firmware related. It's the same in Windows XP and Windows 7, in IDE and AHC, and it has nothing to do with the power / energy settings in windows.
