Hi,
Just curious what software are you using on linux , for hdd diagnostics and recovering ...

Any hdparm users around , i'd like to use it to unlock a disk ..

the best for me is : testdisk, very simple console software.
you can install it with this command : sudo apt-get install testdisk
my HD contains many bad sectors and cant' be mount (neither on windows nor on linux), testdisk can recover files without mounting it.

80% of my software is coded c++ for Linux. Very stable and good access for driver source code :O)
