Hi!
I have some USB hard disk enclosures that I previously think couldn't be low level scanned. Later I found Magic Boot Disk 2.0 and it's a great piece of work... all enclosures can be verified (but slowly).
With that success case in mind, I bought a chinese USB-to-any-hard-disk adapter. It supports IDE 2.5 and 3.5 HDDs, and SATA HDDs. It works well in Windows and Linux, but it doesn't work with magic boot disk.
The USB vendor IDE is 152d:2337 (a Jmicron product). When started, Windows 98 loads USB drivers and ASPI drivers correctly, and MHDD seems to run, but it shows a strange behaviour:
- HDD name is wrong, it shows with a j337 suffix (IE: a "Samsung SP6003H" is converted into a "Samsung SP6003H j337").
- When starting a scan via F4 command, it shows stats but it locks before reading the first block.
How can I use that thing with MHDD? Is there any update to ASPI drivers or MHDD that could help?
Is any other self booting program that would work with this USB adapter?
