CK, thats a good idea but if we are only rocking XP then that might be a pain
plus, servers are noisy
a simple program that runs on a share or a laptop would be swell i reccon

I was wondering if anyone does a database or simple program for logging DR jobs, i.e contact details and drive type from drop down box etc. most I.T related software would be to complex and overkill anyone do one? andy |

Why not create a simple job database using Sharepoint? Comes as standard with Win Server 2003.... nice and easy to use. |

why don't you get someone to develop an online database? This could then be implemented into a website to genrate quotes, sell parts etc. Shouldn't cost you no more than a grand. |

For data security purposes, I wouldn't recommend putting your customer details into any database that will appear online. |

Track Your Client with assessment report, HDD & its working status, payment maintenance etc... Everyone can create his own simple program with just a simple Access database and Visual basic with some ( buttons,labels,textboxes,simple codes, ... etc) and some basic knowledge. |

Just with minor adjustments in the use of it, we do it online and for free: http://www.pivotaltracker.com/. This is enough for us, and we can access it from every location in the world. We try to keep things not directly doing recoveries themself to a low-cost but with adiquate functionality, and this does the job for us. OK, it is not written for this use, but who cares if it works? |
