the firmware of my MHT2060AT seems to have got broken and i want to rewrite it.
the official utility just checks the version and says no update required, then quits.
however, i found my version (0022) here: http://files.hddguru.com/download/Non-P ... s/Fujitsu/

it seems that those files were created with mhdd.

what commands should i issue to mhdd to write those firmware modules onto disk?

FW on HDD is not the same as on your cell phone. You can not just fix it. There is no flash for broken FW on a HDD. What have you used to determine it has gotten broken somehow?

BTW - FW files are saved with tools such as ACE, SD, and a few others from the SA of the HDD. Normally you need a tool such as the ones made by these companies to access and write to the SA of your HDD to fix your problem.

Before trying to do this one and screwing up this drive completely I might suggest that you ask someone in your area who is a DR company to just look at this drive for you. Normally they do not charge to look at it. This way you can have a good idea what is actually wrong with this drive and if it is possible that you fix it alone or you will need pro help to do this one.

it behaves like some of firmware features are missing, also reports 2TB of size.
so, i want to be sure the firmware is okay, then proceed to fixing its passport info.

there's no user data on the drive, i've recovered it already.

contact the manufacturer. The hw + sw + support fee will cost you... (ask for price)

Can you elaborate on just what you mean here? The drive firmware doesn't really have features as such.

How are you trying to access the device? USB to IDE or some other way?

modules.
i just want to be sure all modules are written okay in the service area.
then i will proceed to recovering the hdd passport and other device recovery actions (user data was recovered already).

it's not a big deal, but without this hdd i have no use for my usb hdd enclosure :)
so i follow the cheapest path by trying to fix it myself.

secondary ide, alone drive, with help of UserPort.
seen by mhdd and victoria directly from windows (xp).

btw, some time ago i zeroed out the sector with the ATA Security module.
it was back in time when i moved it out of my dead laptop into the usb enclosure.

so, now, for recovery actions, i've plugged it directly into ide, then it will be moved to the usb enclosure again.

please also tell me which sector is this ata-security module (i don't remember which one, it was long time ago) and i will skip it when rewriting the firmware.

Did you make a backup of the firmware before modification?
