Hi All Gurus,
I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB hdd that was used for 64 bit Windows 7. Now it cannot be accessed. It can be cloned so there no fw or head issues. Under Win XP's disk management, it shows as GPT Protective Partition. In 64 bit Win 7, it is unallocated. Tried using varous data recovery softwares with no luck---no data at all. Any software can get back the lost volume and data? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Well there should still be a normal NTFS (or FAT/FAT32) data partition on the drive unless something catastropic has happened.
This partition will be a bit further into the drive than a standrad MBR disk
But a scan of the drive from the start should have found it

Did you try someof the software mentioned on the 'software' link on the main hddguru page?
Or Hirens CD has something like Getdataback NTFS; NTSF Mount and some other wierd stuff---that works quite well if drive is ok.
Otherwise you may have a critical problem with the drive itself

The filesystem is same with DOS partition so you could recover all the partition like DOS partition.
