K so basically I was doing a heavy ddrescue image of a drive that was taking about a month to get done. The sad part is that about 20% through the recovery we lost power at my place of work :( (yes that is a very sad face indeed) so basically I did make a log file and managed to get things up ad going. When I got some sort of corruption error that it wasnt able to write anymore. So in order to keep things moving I just carried the image on using the log file to a new image eg drive.img (20%) drive1.img (80%). is there anyway I can join these two images together now or am I unlucky and have to start all over again???

If These are binary images, you have to find where they coincide.
Then you can join them using a hex editor like winhex.

So with the copy /b will that have any issues with the first started image? I really wish I remember what the error was that got this all started, but do you think it will still just simply combine them? I will give it a try on Tuesday since its labor day tomorrow.

It sounds like you are saying you have multiple different pieces of the image that you need to assemble. You can do that with copy, as long as there are not any sectors missing or overlapped
