Right now im using GetDataBack, but Ive got strong recommendations to buy a program going under the name "Recover my files", mainly because its much more easier to find files during recovery. Does the people of this board have any views on that and also any other recommendations besides these 2?

Personally, I don't think that "recover my files" is better than get data back, you can have r-studio too

YOu need to try different softwares until you find what you need. There is not best software. Some highly recommend software for example does not always find what i am looking for because the development in that are is low priority- so i use a differnt software just for that area and it works amazing.
Make sure you clone your hard drive to a good one- then run scans on the good one not the broken one- it will save you allot of problems if the broken one crashes because scanning with many programs.
Good luck

Thanks fellas.
Got a Maxtor right now im gonna have some fun with, its a old HDD that I know has a logical problems that I dont need. Maybe even mechanical. Gonna use Media Tools to clone it to a new one ofcourse and then try out different recovery programs to see who produces the best result.

Thx, ye I will.
Unfortunately I ran into problems at once, realising I only got 1 IDE connector on my motherboard and many SATA, I cannot proceed with Media Tools. It dont accept SATA connections which is radicilous, so I need some converter IDE/SATA. Im buying new PC this week anyways so I'll have to make sure I find a motherboard that has at least 2 IDE connectors, else I cannot CLONE anything!
Why dont it support Sata?? my god..
Does anyone have a better Solution, could I use USB? Since it supports USB it seems with built in drivers that can be preloaded before the application?
If so I would need a IDE - > USB converter?
Please anyone that knows and used Media Tools before , shed some light on this topic will you.
Thx in advance and goodnite from Sweden

I am using ZenOk now for some months and I quite happy with it,

you get antivirus for free and I upgrade to 150GB space
and with the Add-In they provide you can choose the folders you want to automatically backup onto your online-storage. Works like a charm for me ...

This unit is only for quick plug and play and that is it. For everything else is slow. Try to copy 1TB hard disk trough USB.

Disable AHCI mode in the BIOS and you will get access to the SATA drives.
