IDE/SATA -USB Converters for Media Tools Pro, would it work?

I only got 1 IDE connector on my motherboard and many SATA connectors. I cannot proceed with Media Tools because it dont accept SATA connections which is radicilous, so I need some converter IDE/SATA.
Why dont it support Sata, does anyone know??
Does anyone have a better Solution, could I use USB? Since it supports USB it seems with built in drivers that can be preloaded before the application?
If so I would need a IDE - > USB converter? Please anyone that knows and used Media Tools before , shed some light on this topic will you. Would this work if so?
http://www.inet.se/recensioner/8903266/ ... h-3-5-sata or

Thx so much in advance!

You can connect 2 hard drives onto one IDE port. And it will perform normally.

Thx ppumkin for quick reply!
What I can? You mean chaining it up on a IDE cable with multiple connections? I would still need a converter for the destination HDD though, since the program do not accept IDE.
Wouldnt it be better to get 2x of these products I pasted the url of in my previous msg? What u think, lemme kno

Im trying to find info about Media Tools made by Prosoft, but theres none discussions or topics about this tool on the net. I find this weird since its supposed to be the "best" Cloning software around.....

Btw they are not allowed to be "CHAINED" according to the manual :
http://www.prosofteng.com/docs/MediaToolsManual.pdfThis sounds so outdated, who deals with IDE only nowadays anyways lol, radicilous...

It is a great drive killer- Prosoft will do no less than 30 retries of each bad sector and may take so long you will do major damage to what is left of your data so STOP if there is major damage. It does an excellent job of file recovery on drives with minor issues if you dont have access to pro recovery equipment. Usb support works fine for what you want to do- just use a usb adapter (s).

Fudge... thx warnerr! You surely cleared that up, thats what I been suspecting after reading on the forum.
So isnt there any software at all that can get close to the hardware? Or anything that you would recommend me to take another look at? I really need software only, at least to start with.
p.s I dont need to repair the severly damaged harddrives, I just want to be able to clone in the best way possible those harddrives that has logical problems, and very easy mechanical ones. Hope this helps!

I never used that software- and everybody has negative feedback with it.
Honeslty- try Ghost 32 with MiniWindows form Hirens boot- It accepts USB/ SATA/ IDE - and clones no problems. It hannldes bad sectors ok- but when there are allot then you need to try sorts of software.
And with ghost you can use the MASTER/SLAVE ports on Highdensity IDE cables no problem in DOS too.

Google is our friend:
Prosoft mentions SATA drives in a Media Tools
FAQ.
Media Tools Pro manual found
here. It does also mention SATA to IDE adapters, although gives a different example than the FAQ above.
The manual also mentions that hitting Ctrl-S while running the clone process offers you the opportunity to adjust time outs and read (retry) parameters. Gives you the possibility to run with few (or none?) retries to minimize stress on HDD during initial runs.
Software based cloning is indeed lacking compared to hardware based solutions. But by making sure you understand and use features actually present in the program, you can squeeze out couple of MBs more. And even avoid killing the patient disk as you possibly could if you used default settings indiscriminately.

I missed that the MediaTools manual already was referenced in this thread. Sorry about that!

Gotcha,
I Just dont understand why you need converters, when other programs dont ask for it.
