R-Studio

How good is R-Studio in comparison to Media Tools when it comes to HDD Cloning/Imaging?

Would it be a good alternative or a weak one? Im looking for something that can do reverse cloning and not messup the HDD such as GHOST would do if you would find the least of mechanical errors to it.

R-studio is not for imaging.

Ok, then im out of options on the software side ;(. I guess ill continue to run HDD regenerator and Spinrite and take my chances, so far 7 out of 7 hdd has been fully recovered with these tools.

The drives thats mechanically bad are not many, 20%.. I'll take the hit with em, majority works, thats whats important for my clients.

No, I have no experience from it. Is it hard to use if I dont have any experience of Linux? And also can it be compared to Media Tools?

P.s thx a lot for recommending me other tools, Ive given up my hope. The hardware clone I will buy one day maybe but right now I just cannot afford it ;(

Also Im wondering if its possible to make a bootable or if I need to run it off Linux? If so I could just download it and test it right away and burn it inside Windows, but im guessing you cannot do that due to what Ive read about it so far..

Hi

Check on this: http://www.forensicbootcd.com/

I used to try DDRESCUE and Media Tools, but it's very disappointing. I'm waiting for the delivery of DDI. :D
