samsung s2 hd 640gig

hi im new to the forum just got a gift of a Hd samsung s2 portable hard drive 640 gig
and after connecting for the first time it seemed to work ok, now its saying you need to format and in properties it shows disk space is full and i cannot access the drive at all, would appreciate any tips or info on what to do next thanks

if the drive under warranty take it back. if not and you want the data from it. remove the drive from the caddy and connect direct to your MB. a lot of times the caddy is the problem and the drive is fine

AFAIK this is a 4k sector size disk check if is supported by your O.S.
you can try with win7 and if it still doesen't work apply for RMA
