Intel ICH9R Deleted Wrong Raid Array Accidentally

March 24th, 2011, 12:57

Hi

I accidently deleted the wrong raid array and lost all my data that was on a raid 0 array and would like to get back the data , i'm not sure if would be possible.

I'm using Intel ICH9R chipset to setup my raid array

I had 2 hard drives (750gb) in raid 0 config and i broke the wrong raid array, i was in a panic and desided to rebuild the array using the same strip size (128kb)but didn't format the hard drive in windows 7 yet

does anyone know if i'm SOL now since that i'd rebuild the array or do i still have a chance to get my data back?

if so what software should i try?

so far the software i'm looking at is UFS Explorer and RAID Reconstructor. do you think these software will work?

i won't be able to test it out until very late tonight. any help or suggest would be very much appreciated

You should neevr of rebuild your RAID array. When you lose a RAID the first thing to do is take your RAID and clone it to another HDD and work from there on this one.

You have already done a lot of damage to this one. First off you deleted it and second off you rebuilt it. I can not promise or guarantee that anyone can get back this data for you on this one. But so far you have done some major damage to this one. What you should do before attemping anything else is make a working clone of them. If you can not do this and do not want to seek a professional who knows these issues and might be able to help you recover your data. Well then I am not sure what can help you out in this one. When you rebuilt your RAID you completely over wrote all data on this HDD.

You might just have to go on and start new on this one if you do not want to seek professional help. Sorry know this is not what you want to hear on this one.

Hi Poehere,
what is the best method for me to clone the hard drive any software suggestion i should used?

i currently have 2 more 750GB hard drive and may pick up a 2TB drive later tonight.

i did try to use the getbackntfs trail software lastnight but it was freezing up this morning so i'm not sure if i was able to pick up any data at all.

if i'm going to clone the drive tonight, i don't think breaking the raid array is a good ideal.
should i just clone the raid 0 drive to another to the 2TB drive tonight or another raid 0 drive and see if i can recover any data on there?

I'd recommend you to try R-Studio. It has a built-in disk copy/imaging module. You may try it before buy, as it performs in the demo mode all data recovery operations (including disk imaging and file preview), except saving recovered files.
