Hey, im new to the website looking for help, im trying to recover data from a Micro SD card, when i connect the card via an adapter to my machine it mounts the card as drive E however, when i click on it the following message comes up 'Please Insert a Disk into Removable Disk E'

I have tried 2 software tools

1st software - PhotoRec, when running the tool it cannot detect the drive E - (Disk Capacity Must be Correctly detected for a successful recovery) however the machines drive can be detected and also i have tried another working flash drive to confirm detection.

2nd software - Badcopy - iv ran this also and again similar to above.

Originally the card was in my phone, i unistalled the card and by mistake tried reinstalling it without placing it correctly in the housing slot and hence pushed onto the card it self, i think this caused the problem.

Just want to know if its possible to do anything with it or am i wasting my time:

Many Thanks

Usually the drive is actually the card reader and therefore seeing that in Windows tells you nothing about the card itself - it's just a removable drive with no media in it.

And that means that the media (card) is either not physically detected, or is unreadable - but it's a fairly generic Windows error message and doesn't give you more detail.

Based on what you say below, I doubt that this issue can be resolved with software.

If you are saying that you pushed hard onto the microSD card and bent/flexed it, and it has been unreadable since then, its likely that you have physically damaged the card (the microSD cards can't withstand much bending). If that is the situation, it's not necessarily unrecoverable, although it might be unrecoverable (depending on the exact damage and type of microSD card). In any case, if there is physical damage then it isn't a DIY job that you can fix.

Can you see any crack or other physical damage on the card (while also being careful not to cause further damage)?

You could post a close-up (macro) photo of the card in the Flash Memory forum here:
flash-memory-f10.html
along with the result of your examination for physical damage, give a link to your story of the card's history in this thread, and see if anyone has further suggestions for you.

thanks, i think your right, the physical media not being detected and like you said the E drive is poping up due to the adapter. Iv had a look at the card and cant see any physical damamge to the outside, it must be internal problem not sure what to do.
