I've developed a command-line (Windows) utility that validates the following file types:

DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPS, PPSX, PDF, and JPG.

It will scan a folder (and subfolders) and delete garbage files.

I wrote the program to deal with reformatted hard drives. My various recovery software packages often recover multiple instances of the same file, some of which are garbage. This utility quickly weeds-out the garbage files. It is a HUGE time saver.

I'm wondering if any of you think I'd find anyone interested in spending $20 or $25 on something like this?

Does it use header's checking only or it could detect even partially corrupted those files?

Headers only at this time except for JPG files. JPG files it is more intensive.

Working on more intensive checking of office documents.

Me too- too many files to dig through for client. It would be great to filter out the damaged stuff not having to do it manually.
