Hi I bought a Iomega ego external HDD, when I began to copy files to the hd and play some files, the drive began to make some noises , when playing a video file when moving the slide control in video player the drive made these noises too, well, I check the iomega site but there is no tool for scan the drive, so then I found HDDscan , in a full read scan, I have these values, I compare with a sata seagate barracuda 160gb and the values are a lot lower than the Iomega (a samsung HDD), here are the values , these values are really bad for a new HDD???? this tool is checking the drive correctly ??
many thanks

I ran a read test with Hard Disk Sentinel 3.50 but acording to this software all is ok, but I have copied around 80gb files, and with a utility for comparing files, I compared original and copied files and I found many differences, some of them open normally, but a few were corrupted, someone know another software than I can run to confirm if this hdd is defective ? the disk have "weak" sectors ? and for this reason this software don“t mark any bad sector ?

Thanks !

move on this webisite - left upper corner - to hddguru main website - and then to software
if you are able to take the drive(s) out of case (and either have no warranty time left or
dont care about that) - connect the hdd into your system - and then look for and load: mhdd
That does not work on USB
