It depends, was the laptop on when it was thrown? If it wasn't, it is possible your data is all still there and accessible via another computer and an ide/sata to usb adapter that you can pick up on ebay fairly cheap.
If it was on when it was thrown, it's likely there is damage to the platters.
However if it is a solid state drive, you'd have much better odds at recovering your data.
a lot of ifs. if you get us more info, we can get you answers with less ifs.
