Post subject:  How much time it takes MHDD to SCAN a 2TB disk drive?

I'll be off for a work trip in about 15 hrs. Need to use MHDD to diag (error-scan) a newly bought WD20EARX 2TB before I go. How many hours will likely take MHDD to perform such a task? Would appreciate advices from those who regularly MHDD Scan 2TB or up high-capacity disk drives. Thank you!

My setup:
I'd like to place burned MHDD image CD in external USB Samsung DVD-RW drive (SE-S084F), and diag (error-scan) a newly bought WD20EARX 2TB. The target HDD to scan is situated in an external HDD enclosure attached via SATA interface to my ThinkPad X220.

As far as I know there is no hdd enclosure with SATA interface. Maybe eSATA interface. But then I highly doubt that the lenovo laptop has an eSATA port built in.

The interface used does play an important role on how much faster the scan would be.

I believe eSATA is as fast as internal SATA.
Almost all Lenovo laptops come with an eSATA port, ThinkPad T, W, X series have eSATA, and my ThinkPad W520 has eSATA port. In fact ThinkPad is the richest in wired connectivity as such storage ports.

Back to my top, I'm still looking for hints about time required for scanning high-capacity disk drives.

If there's no errors, I'd guess it would be the time needed to do sequential read of the drive. Around 7 to 8 hours?
Just guessing.
