Hi, I have just completed a software recovery after the hard drive had been reinstalled and of course many jpeg files were damaged by overwriting.

What I noticed with the good images is the camera details and image resolution are showing in the file properties. What I would like to know is if I can use those details to filter out the good from the bad images?

Well just had a brainwave and found the options available to do this in windows by camera model etc. Never noticed it before! But very useful!

Exif info, thumbnail image, and main image are all in separate areas of the file, so one or more can be bad while others are still good. No guarantee that a jpg with intact exif data has an intact main image, and vice versa.
