Have a 3TB that client wants pulled out of the Ethernet box and used in a standard USB box. Problem it is for Windows XP
Windows XP can configure this HDD only with WD Align Windows powered by Acronis
Registered this product but will not allow for download of this software. Jumpers have to be set to 7 & 8 an the software has to be run in order to configure and format this HDD. Other wise the BIOS sees it correctly and IDs the HDD as a 3TB but XP will only allow for 800MB to be formatted without this software.
Do anyone have a copy of this software willing to share. WD does not allow to download this for some unknown reason even if you have your product registered and it is still under warrenty.
Have cloned data to the HDD but there was MBR and Partition problems from original 2TB HDD. All data is off this HDD now and stored on another HDD. Client wants this formatted now for Windows XP and without the WD Align Windows Powered by Acronis software can not do this one. I am sure others have downloaded this before and could someone share a copy of this. I have contacted WD to find out why they refuse to allow me to download it even with this HDD registered and still under warenty. WD has not asnwered back and it has been some time since I have contacted them.
