HDD GURU FORUMS

I have a drive that was Reiser FS and is now formatted for Mac. I need to recover the Reiser Partition Files. Can anyone recommend software that runs on mac that can recover these ReiserFS files. I have also got access to a linux ubuntu machine if there is some good software for that operating system.

There is no decent recovery software for ReiserFS, for any platform

I agree with Doomer

However you can try one or all of the following:

option a) You can give UFS explorer a try I believe they have a mac version, but don't expect great results.
option b) Or you can send it to someone who can reconstruct Reiser FS, but it will be costly.
option c) you can try and contact Hans Reiser for some help

Hans Reiser is in prison kinda hard to talk to him these days

First make a clone.
Under Linux/knoppix do a

fsck.reiserfs /dev/sdax

where sdax is your partition.

Why the necessity for an application within MacOS?
