Sheer FUD, do you have an example of this? I highly doubt this as the first time this type of thing came to light would be the end of the AV companys credibility.


how do you think anti virus companys make there money they go to places like microsoft and tell them someone has made a key gen
and that they will flag it as a virus for so much money a year same goes with any programs.

same goes with the windows 7 patch it total save and nothing to hide.



Would you work with a software company that made wiping tools and tell everyone that if the tools were pirated it would damage the disk during use because they paid you to? It would want to be a huge sum, more than what they would lose from piracy to take the credibility gamble.

Cracked software is notorious for containing malware. Just because you might be lucky in the few you download, it still is true.

this is miss information there are groups out there that release software to share with people who can not afford it or dont agree with the companys that play dirty tricks.

i been in the scene a very longtime and know most of the groups who release software.
they do it as a challenge and like to give it for free

how many people can afford to buy microsoft windows 7 or windows 8

they get paid big money from companys to flag there software that has been hacked as a virus
when infact its now.

The big corporations must have paid off the Anti Virus companies because, now major anti virus companies are flagging LOIC (low orbit ion cannon) software as high risk malware.

No-one is argueing that point, the fact is, you cant prove a point by citing an individual case.

So are you saying that none of any of the free or cheap DR tools on the net, from any source, contain malware?

I am sure for every case where there is a false positive, you can find a malware infected one also.

The reason that some are flagged as malware is because the cracker used a custom .exe packer, and that packer might have been used to pack malware.. so it gets flagged.

There are many scenarios of all possiblities, so forget posting individual cases.

Also, there are "right" ways to program without setting off AV alarms. Windows security, for example, needs code written properly o that the software protection WORKS. otherwise windows is vulnerable to people exploiting it because the measures put in by MS are broken by shitty developers code.

Another way to program is such as Nirsoft - small utilities to get the exact job done, nothing else. no effort to make sure it isnt flagged. Well I can live with that. BTW, Nir himself states on the page YOU LINKED that he hasnt bothered contacting AV companies for his reasons. wel.. if you dont start a dialog, nothing gets done does it?

Alot of this detection is automated - no human interaction unless something interesting pops up. You cant blame conspiracy theory for that, it is just a struggle to automate something so dynamic.

If the packer is very good, you tell me how you can tell the nature of the software easily if you have cases of malware packed with it, then you get a keygen packed with it.

or put it this way, if I gave you a password protected zip.exe .. and you were not able to know what the .exe was, would you run it on your system???

Everone complains about getting infected with malware, but doesnt want to software engineer properly, or wants to run all their warez from any dodgy source without issue. It doesnt work like that!
