Take note that it does not supply the software to recover data from the dumps. It just gets the dumps and you still need a program like PC3K Flash or SoftCentre to decipher the data, so to speak.

I'd think that your money would be better spend on tools that provide the necessary software to recover the files, unless your intentions are only to get the dumps and outsource the reconstruction elsewhere. If that is the case, it makes sense if the unit is cheap enough. (under $500, as far as I'm concerned)

eSATA is nice about it... especially for high capacity SSD chips.

Also the inbuilt ability to read chips at varying voltage, specifically the LGA chips that need 1.8V :)

This is definitely beneficial, but I wonder how that would be controlled for this device?
