hey spildit buddy, we must unfortunately leave some time to play with the drive until I find a new bone PM25LV020, ehh lot narobiło, that I tried to upload a file ROM.bin you did with my copy of this disc Willem, but unfortunately, the bone through manipulation and fun was damaged electrically and mechanically (been broken individual pins) itself is efficient drive electronics are not damaged pads. I hate to ask, but if he could colleague would have the memory of home in their resources (if only friend has this type of resources). I hope that this information will not discourage buddy for further assistance with this disc.

This is what I could figure out from your drive :- The drive have a wrong Head Map or one head was already depoped.
Loading a Head Map from a donor drive of the same model as yours show that Head 3 Should be enabled, while on your drive it isn't the case. Trying to correct it and the Native Map / Good Map values doesn't make any difference regarding the drive situation.

- map.jpg (32.3 KiB) Viewed 7462 times
- Can't read a single FW module on the 2nd copy (head 1).

- 1.jpg (33.41 KiB) Viewed 7462 times
- I can Read and DUMP a FEW (very few in fact) modules on SA, leading to believe that some SA modules can be read, so the information on ROM is correct, allowing for Module access, and the problem might be BAD Sector on SA tracks, or Tracks on SA can't be read due to MEDIA DAMAGE ?
- Writing to modules "appears" to work but when checking again they are still BAD and can't be READ. It's like writing to a bad spot on the drive.
As you don't need data from the drive, and the drive already have one head less than it apparently should, I wouldn't be wasting more time with this drive and would buy another one.
As a last effort I would try to format SA and copy new compatible modules, run ARCO, Run SS, pray allot ..... and hopefully it would kill the drive anyway .... really, it's not worth the trouble and the drive would never be reliable again.
The fact that I can read at least 4 or 5 modules and valid data is present inside them indicates to me that there is no problem with the ROM head Map or SA address, in other words, the drive can find the location of the modules on the platter, but simply can't read them because the SA tracks are bad. This is what I think anyhow. I don't think that anyone would have messed with the drive at a firmware level, like editing the firmware region map ..... My guess is that something BAD happened like drive was dropped and heads hit platter damaging SA tracks .....
I'm very sorry but at this point there is nothing more then I can do.
Maybe someone else with more experience might assist you.
Best regards.

Hey, Spildit. I think I know where the devil is, and so the problem probably is not BAD sectors in SA, the problem is in the ROM, because why I drew, because the system rom how the soldered it W25X020, and the original original, which was a PM25LD020, which is vaguely different than W25X020 , If it were indeed Bad sectors in SA, or a problem with the heads, it would be difficult to have access to the BIOS level, or drive by trapping heads. Here it is not, I think after the new year, how do I get PM25LD020 (primary IC ROM), this reading of the modules will be enabled.

Hey everyone.
I apologize in advance that this post under the post, but ran out of time to edit the previous one. So yes, I attach files from the action on the disk. In the file. zip are two folders in the folder where the files are located Work1_old of the previous attempts of the IC PM25LD020, while work1 folder contains the files of the current sample with the IC W25X020. Regards!

If my English is not understandable, please write. I recall my English is based mostly on the basis of google translator. Because, I come from Poland.
