Hi;

I am looking for a utility to safely erase/wipe the entire contents of a hard disk. There are 2 tools on the HDDGURU.com site that I'm interested in: HDD Low Level Format (LLF) and HDD Wipe Tool. Can someone please tell me the difference between these 2 tools and which would be better for securely destroying the data on a hard disk?

Thank you.

A tool called DBAN is probably a good choice. Exactly designed to do what you want.

DBAN Download - Darik's Boot And Nuke http://www.dban.org

I would say the same thing, but in this case the OP went to the trouble of writing :

So that is why I suggested dban, and not a LLF tool.
