I'm testing with some open source software that will redirect your COM port (where you have the TTL connected) to my computer. That way i can do remote terminal connection, like COM port redirect by IP.

If you are willing to do so i can try to fix your drive using this method, but :

1 - You will NOT see the commands that i will use to fix the drive, as all the terminal session will be done on my computer and all the tools used will be on my computer only, redirecing the commands to your com port.

and

2 - I will charge for the service and you will have to pay first by paypal. If for some reason it ends up not working (drive can't be refurbish) i will refund you the money.

What do you say ?

What exactly are you trying to do ?
Refurbish a LOT of Seagate drives ? How many ? Just one ?
What do you mean by "under crises" ? Did you aquire some HDDs and now you want to refurb and sell them ? What exactly do you need to do, so that i can see how reasonable your request is, because as you might imagine i like to eat everyday too, and buy new tools, etc ...

Sorry to say this and i hope that i'm wrong but i'm getting the impression that you and the HARD RECOVER op are the same person.
Asking the same questions about Self Scan on seagate over and over again, the way both of you write is the same..... maybe i'm wrong but it's very .... interesting ...

Is the PCB native ?
Did you start and stop self test while test 02 was still running and not completed ?
Are those starnge characters some sort of "bad translated" STCom :

Did you saved firmware and tracks prior of starting SS ?
Do you have a copy of the app code that you can boot from ?
Do you know the commands to read/load adaptives from disk and did you try those ?

But please answer to my questions first, 1 - Are you the same as HARD RECOVER and 2 - Are you trying to refurb a BIG lot of diferent seagate drives or you just need this one fixed ? If it's just this one that you want to fix for yourself, because you don't want to spend money buying a new drive, i think that i can spare some time and try to fix it for free, if not for anything else, for the challange of it. Now if you are refurbing a HUGE amount of different drives with all sort of diferent problems don't expect for me to fix them for free so that you can re-sell the drives and earn all the money for yourself.

I consider myself a kind person that likes to help and try to share but don't expect for me to be telling you step-by-step how to fix all the drives that you have so that you can make $$$$ out of my help.

If it's for your personal use (your drive) and if you need help to get your dirive working, that is one thing, another thing is making me to do the work and then just sell the working drives and get all the $$$$.

Hope that you understand my position too. I'm also starting my DR business. It's not that i don't like to share and it's not that i don't like to help, and i'm not practicing the same prices as a normal Data Recovery lab would charge, but i also don't think it's fair at all for me to be working by teamviewer or even replying with sollution by PM on the forum so that people can earn money out of my help while it's provided for free from my part. I will help you out if it's your drive and if you are experimenting for yourself.

Now if you are mass-refurb drives that you will sell later don't expect for me to be here solving all of your seagate issues so that you can use me to get your business going.

Hope that you understand and hope that you don't take offense on what i'm saying, and i trully hope that i'm wrong and you are not HARD RECOVER or other users with the same nick trying to "extract" help from me by PM. It's just that using different nicknames to ask for the same questions when one of the nickname doesn't get what he wants it's not going to work with me either.

I'm very, very sorry if i'm mistaken, but the way you use to write and the sort of questions that you make just makes me believe that you are the same HARD RECOVER user (and a bunch more that were banned from the forum) ......

N2,AA,22 wil re-calc adaptives.

#,,22 enter serial number

$ enter pcba serial number

This if you continue to get "ERROR: No Serial Number"

You might need to "force" drive to write to firmware with wrong adaptives, if they were indeed destroyed. You can try to go to F> and load adaptives from disk and app code there. If no go you will need "special tricks" to "regen" the destroyed adaptives. I can think of 2 ways to do that but would require for you to send the drive to me or for you to use the COM redirect software so that i would try to fix the drive at my end.
I can do this for free if it's only one drive that you want to fix. I will fix one drive for free as i think it will be reasonable.

Try to set serial number and do N2,AA,22 first, this will erase all data. Don't stop self test untill it finish. If it fails go to F and check what message you will get when you try to load app and adaptives from the drive. Post here. If it fails (as i'm sure it will, because aparently adaptives are damaged) you will need remote com port software (open source) and i will help you for free on ONE DRIVE.
