* the refund will be grant for flight, hotel, meals and considered as a further discount to add to actual promotions for this single purchase, the maximum amount of refund changes according to buyer's country:
Italy up to 400,00 euros
Europe (except Italy) up to 600,00 euros
Others up to 800,00 euros
I don't think that's a "catch" as such, as far as I understand it they will further discount the cost of the tool purchase to the tune of your valid expenses.
I think they mean "granted" rather than "grant" IMHO.

I read "grant" as "rebate".
AIUI, there is an initial discount of 20% which every attendee receives, while the "grant" is an additional discount subject to the attendee's country of origin, not a total refund of travel expenses.

Well, as I understand it, a 20% initial discount, plus travel expenses capped at €400/600/800 depending on country of origin (read distance to travel), which I don't think is unreasonable.
I presume this is to prevent someone flying first class and staying at 5* hotels and claiming €5,000 as travelling expenses. I would also assume that evidence of travel expenses would have to be produced to claim the deductions.

@pcimage, I wouldn't expect any such reimbursement from any vendor, so the fact that attendees get any rebate at all is a generous gesture, IMO. It's just that Michaels' post is a little misleading because it gives rise to the same unreasonable expectations that you have suggested.

Rebate or grant is no good if the product is crap
And I'm sure it's a rip of a rip, original source being PC3K.

hi guys,
i think that a open day can be worthy for everyone who is interested on check the tool and see if is or not a pc3000 clone....
i know is not a copy, for example, they could rebuild rom modules on a wd diablo3s without original pcb and with rom overlays empty ("not init" on mods 102,105...) and worked fine (AFAIK in my pc3000 UDMA there's not such feature), now they added this option in the new release that will be presented on that day.
bye

The crisis in the Eurozone must be getting really bad if the Chinese are now taking advantage of cheap Italian labour.

Well people.. What matters for me, is what the complex does for me, not who makes the board. I did worked well with the pc3000 SCSI that was based on a controller board available on the market.
