That site and its tools make SD look good. You should buy it Spildit.

You have to admit, the bigger collection of tools on the shelf, the better it looks

But you would think that if you made these tools, you would have at least 1 employee that reads these forums, and that they could add to the discussion and say something about their site and tools. If not then they cant be in touch with HDD Recovery as a whole. I realise that this forum is not the be all and end all of HDD recovery, and that they aren't required to even respond, but any serious company should have a Google alert type thing happening on their name and some terms to see where they can add positive spin to themselves.

as always, exceptions to this abound.

They cost just as much as PC3K and have no reviews. I offered to test and review a unit for them, but they aren't interested. I cannot speak for the rest of you, but I have no intention of spending close to $10K on a tool that might do what I know PC3K can do.

if anyone is in need to know more about them I'd like to share my experience.
This company is based Italy and not too far from me, about 3 months ago they asked me to become a beta tester for their DR tool, and i accepted

What i found is that actually working in AHCI is a lot better than UDMA not only for speed but for stability and drive errors management (the port reset is great!).
The price list they gave me is more or less aligned with pc3k with DE for both firmware and cloner utilities and i considered it worthy after having used it for a while.
As all the tools have some pros and some cons, about password unlock i unlocked ARM hitachi and WD Royl drives without the need of any forensic version.
As i don't want this post to become an advertisement if you are interested on further opinions (both for pros and cons) or screenshot ... just let me know

Had they not giving you a unit to test, would you choose to buy their unit over an updated PC3K UDMAe or PC3K Express? Does it have all the power of PC3K? When you are comparing to PC3K, which version of PC3K are you comparing? From what I can tell, the price difference is negligible, so it comes down to functionality, reliability and support.

Also, is the PCIe card a custom build or just a generic card, as it looks like from the photo on their website?

i didn't buy pc3k express as looked too much as a normal UDMA with more channels and higher price .... so i can compare only with UDMA, my pc3k is 5.6.6 ( i think should be the latest ).

yes i received a test set for 1 month and then i bought it, about the purchase you said right "updated PC3K" ... actually i'm more confident on this new tool as it's a newer technology than Ace's and i already received 2 updates (as beta) with good improvements.
I liked the policy of free updates and the fact that they listened at me for wishlists, actually the support is good and fast but i understand that they are quite new so i not possible to judge.

Does it have all the power of PC3K? When you are comparing to PC3K, which version of PC3K are you comparing?

Is hard to compare as they are different and sometimes is better sometimes less i try to clarify, i like a lot the cloner utility as is fast even to create the sector maps for unread or error sectors i have to say that is more like a DDI 4 than PC3K DE.
About firmware utilities has some features i like, i think WD royl support is better:
through support they could rebuild ROM modules on drives with overlays mod "NOT INIT"
the speed on tracks reading is great (very much faster than PC3K), speed apart the other options are more or like like Ace's.
They lack a bit on head map in RAM for newer families, sometimes it didn't work.
About Seagate i could work with a good list of system files (also volumes not yet managed by pc3k ) 3 months ago and i could work on Lombard drives (the 4tb with no com port full access .. they opened it), on the other side here also they lack for head map editing.
as i told you i'm confident about updates.

i think is quite difficult to me to tell you ... i can see that before windows booting there's an output with the name of the controller (something like "EDR Tool controller...") but i think is better to ask them about.

Head map on F3 seagate is not supported yet with this tool, but it will be from next update on April 2014

Guess it takes time to rip commands from PC3000 UDMA

If you go to "Polo tecnologico di Pordenone" (Italy) on 24th of June 2014 you can purchase F.L.A.M.E EDR tools (firmware utilities and copier) with 20% discount.
If you purchase it, they will refund the money you spend for the travelling (train, plane, hotel etc).

On 24th of June at the "Polo tecnologico di Pordenone", will shown you how to use the tools for free, then you can think to buy or not, but if you don't buy they will not refund you the travelling cost.

I just knew there had to be some catch to the "refund".

Well, as I understand it, a 20% initial discount, plus travel expenses capped at €400/600/800 depending on country of origin (read distance to travel), which I don't think is unreasonable.

I presume this is to prevent someone flying first class and staying at 5* hotels and claiming €5,000 as travelling expenses. I would also assume that evidence of travel expenses would have to be produced to claim the deductions.

@pcimage, I wouldn't expect any such reimbursement from any vendor, so the fact that attendees get any rebate at all is a generous gesture, IMO. It's just that Michaels' post is a little misleading because it gives rise to the same unreasonable expectations that you have suggested.
