I am recovering a drive for a client. He has several older computer backed up on this drive (OS and all). There is about 1.7TB of data. I have run into some .manifest files that are incredibly slow at recovering through R-Studio. ie a few KB takes minutes. Any idea why?

I don't remember encountering this type of file.
But a file extraction test of 1-2 files with at least one other tool can point out whether it is R-Studio or the file itself that causes the slow down.

These are probably XML files. maybe part of JAVA. They may not be required to recover
