WD 2TB LL format

I dropped a WD 2 TB green hard drive and now it has a lot of bad sectors, I was able to recover all the files off it and wanted to lock out the bad sectors, so I tried several disk checking programs to fix or lock them, Windows chkdsk, paragon, eseus, mini tool. All got so far then stopped. I was able to creat and make a 200mb partition and format it and check it.
So I decided to start over with a ll format and found HDD LL format and started it but it was slow, so I purchased it and now its running but I can not get any reading of the speed. Its been running 20 minuets and its only one 87,000 sectors, but the speed mbs = 0, I did see it jump to 0.1 once. I am connected directly to the mother board on a amd 8 core 3.1ghz cpu with 4gb of ram. From reading this forum I should get several hundred MB's speed.
Any idea why mine is so slow? I have rebooted and disabled every unessential program.

The drive's firmware may have been affected by the accumulation of bad sectors. Also, there is a possibility the mechanics are weak.

Seel it for parts. Once dropped, likely no longer reliable.

If that was a real drop and not a few centimeters, then you're a lucky person.

Now you have a hi-tech door stopper, keep it as your lucky mascot. I doubt anyone here will recommend you to re-use the drive somehow else.

I wouldn't use that drive for storage, but it might make a useful subject for study.

I would begin by reading the "ROM" and firmware modules (SA):
http://sediv2008.narod.ru/Easy3.9Passwo ... 567890.rar

MOD 34 is the G-list and MOD 32 is the relo-list. These should tell us which head(s) were damaged.

I can open and extract.
I ran it in a sandbox but get an error. DIV has stopped working.

Use Windows XP instead, if you have it.
