Hi guys,

I'm thinking of starting a service here in the USA of renting out HDD Surgery tools to smaller labs who only occasionally need them. I'd charge ~$75/week for most of the head swap tools (plus the cost of shipping). I figure it'll help me offset the cost of buying them for my own use, and possibly help out some guys who don't want to spend the cash for a tool they might only use once or twice.

Anyone on here would be interested in such a service? I'm trying to get an idea how much interest there is before I commit to buying a bunch of them.

Such a tool is very easy to damage with no experience.
Check immediately can not. Even the slightest twists, invisible to the eye, they will become worthless
There are big scandals.
Think about it.

Exactly what I was thinking, even before I read your post.

Chances are that a small "lab" (could be just a back-bedroom boy) who cannot afford/justify the outright purchase of a tool costing just a few 100$, won't have the necessary skills to perform the operation anyway, and could easily damage the tool (maybe inperceptively).

It's not something I'd be inclined to offer.

TomSet and Luke are on true, maybe any novice can damage the tools, but is posible to rental only to recognized by you DR customers too.

is a choice.

I would require a deposits of the full cost of the tool up front and then refund the deposit (less the rental charge) after I receive and inspect the tool.
