 Post subject: I have case of data recovery i am stuck

hi i have a case of data recovery my client deleted his images folder.and now he want to get back all those deleted images .so i have recovered all of the images. now the problem most of the image are not display and corrupt and windows photo viewer not showing pictures and some picture are able to be viewed .the image folder has been deleted by the user 6 month ago and then he has overwritten data on this partition so can any please let me know is that possible to recover overwritten data ? or not ?

If sectors were overwritten, there's nothing you can do...

you can try other software e.g UFS explorer and perform a raw recovery of images only and see if you can get some working files.

You also might try a program like testdisk on the drive for RAW recovery. Strangely I've had it find images and video that every other data recovery software missed on RAW recoveries.

However there is no possiblity of recovering data that's been overwritten.

I've found the same thing with PhotoRec, by the same author. In a comparison of PhotoRec against GDB and some other recovery program whose name I forget, PhotoRec recovered more uncorrupted photos than the other two programs.

Yes I actually was referring to PhotoRec. It comes bundled with testdisk which is why I called it that.
