Try PhotoRec. I've found that it does an excellent job with pictures like your, where several other recover programs don't. |

You mentioned there are a lot of bad sectors on the original, so you may never be able to get good quality pictures back.Edit: I see you have data recovery skills and experience, so forgive the suggestion you might have used just cloning software. |
