Hello Folks , We Get Lot Of USB Interface Based Drives .Though We Can Convert Then To SATA And Use Them Or Go For a SATA Compatiable PCB And Swap U12 ROM .I Would Be Interested In a Software That Can Do That Might Be In Non Windows Environment As Windows Environment Can Hang The system With This Kind Of Typical Issue .Any Suggestions Folks Please .... PS : Each Of My Lab PC Has 2 Free PATA / SATA Ports If This Helps . |

I just use DDI 4 with the USB add-on. Just mirrored one at 110MB/second (when not hitting read errors). There are many times when I cannot get PC3K to even recognize a USB drive...likely because windows is too busy interfering, but it detects and mirrors with DDI without any major issues. |

You can consider the DFL-URE for such drives: http://www.dolphindatalab.com/dfl-ure-b ... -equipment |

You are not going to find a S/W solution that soft/hard/power resets the drive when you come to bad sectors. Use ddrescue if you must stick to a S/W solution (You probably already use that.) |

Well, I Do Not Use That But I Am Also Researching On Many Linux Based Imagers/Cloners Out There Like The Following 1 : Parted Magic Etc Etc Not All Drives With Bad Sectors Need a Hardware Restart .Before i Was Into This Agressively I Used To Do Quite Few Recoveries With MediaTools .How Much Does The DDI 4 Complex Cost BTW Folks . |
