Hitachi Travelstar Firmware

I have an Hitachi Travelstar HTS543232A7A384 in Acer Gateway NE56R. My HDD is working slow.I want a firmware upgrade for it and HDD Advance power Management(APM) is set to 128 i want to set it to 254 permanently. Pls help me to do this or help me with providing a firmware upgrade with patch.

.And its average responce time is about 1000-2000 in Windows 8.1 32bit.

A firmware upgrade would be unlikely to improve your drive's performance. You could use quietHDD to disable APM. https://sites.google.com/site/quiethdd/ To test the speed of your drive, I would run a HD Tune read benchmark against it. http://www.hdtune.com/ I would examine the drive's SMART report with a tool such as CrystalDiskInfo (or HD Tune). http://crystalmark.info/software/Crysta ... dex-e.html Look for reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors.

I have disabled HDD APM.And runned HD Tune read benchmark test and get the report.If possible provide firmware upgrade.

The dips in the HD Tune benchmark graph could be due to interference from background tasks (eg antivirus) which may be competing with HD Tune for the attention of the drive and CPU. I would examine the list of running tasks in Task Manager. Otherwise the SMART report looks good. I can't help you with firmware, though. Have you tried Lenovo's web site? Don't be tempted to apply OEM firmware to a retail drive, as the consequences can be fatal.
