Buffalo Ministation Plus - HD-PNTU3 - Hardward Encrypted

March 13th, 2015, 3:24

Hi all experts,

I have a 1TB external hard drive from Buffalo brand. Model: Mini Station Plus HD-PNTU3
The connector from the hard disk to cable has been damaged.
My Hard Drive is password protected and i know the password.
I cannot access the data, is there any way to access it and can I personally do it myself?

Here is the image of what happened, any way or tips as to how to get this to a professional to solder? I know it could be impossible as it is made by machinery.

ISTM that your local TV/AV repair shop should be able to reattach the connector, even if they were to run wires between each pin of the connector and the PCB. Alternatively, you could chop the end off the USB cable, bare each wire and solder it directly to the PCB. You wouldn't need to attach all the wires -- USB 2.0 would be enough (Data+, Data-, +5V and Ground).
